Tested Matrix on our trom.tf and very likely we will also provide that. A Matrix server and client, so anyone can register and use a client. Matrix is an awesome protocol so having an account on the network opens up a lot of possibilities. You will be able to connect with so many communities. And I seriously think to move back to Matrix with our TROM Chats that are now handled by Nextcloud Talk. There are many Matrix clients, so basically one can register with our trom.tf and have their account there, but then use any client they want to chat with their friends. I used Riot for many years back when it just came into existence and I started to hate it when the main instance and client were pushing trades into my face, like "why dont you move to our better server for $$ a month"... But now that we will have our own trade-free server we could move our discussions there.

So I tested it and so far so great + I customized it a bit and all that. I will have to check its integration with Signal and Whatsapp to see if it really works well.

But yah, another service for trom.tf. I don't just add tons of apps there, I only add those that are unique and super useful. Matrix is one of them for sure. #tromlive

Ok so not to be a douchebag but TVP (Roxanne) really sounds like the new age gurus with their "selling stuff to train people". Listen to this ytb.trom.tf/watch?v=nfMDr6mCFx… - listen a few minutes. She's like "it is free", then "well...they have to purchase this in order to take the course....". Working with TVP and Roxanne for several years I do not think they want to scam people. They do believe in what they do there from what I can say, but man they really sound like any internet-cult I've seen when they pitch their "offers" and "train" people to become a point of contact only if they purchase their materials....is just....sad...

Also, they talk about doing something all the time, but then you wait and nothing happens. Of course. They have plans that are too grandiose and I learned to move away from such ways of thinking because they are unrealistic. TVP is still a very inspirational project. I love Jacque and the way he puts our society into perspective when he presents his vision of the future. Love it. But yah...I moved away from these inspirational movements and created for myself a new way of thinking that I am trying to explain in more detail in the next 2 documentaries I work on: TROM II and a personal one (kinda). #tromlive

I was really looking for a stellar notes application that can do the following:

• Ability to add a fuck ton of notes. I need notes in folders and subfolders.
• A simple and intuitive text editor. I want to make the text bold if needed, add code blocks if I want to, tables, change font type and color, sizes. align it, etc. But do that with buttons. Me->Click! Markdown is really great, but I need something on top of that else I end up with complicated notes formatting. You see, I am at times writing code, other times simple notes, at times make lists, and so forth. SO MANY KIDS OF NOTES :)
• Speaking of that, adding a to-do list that I can tick as "done" is also useful for me. This done, this not, this done, this...
• Add images/videos inside notes.
• Complex when needed: to be able to format the code style according to the code type (like CSS needs to look different from PHP and so forth).
• To be fast.
• To be able to sync across different devices if needed. From mobile to tablet and desktop.
• A global search.
• Sort notes based on several criteria such as the date modified and so forth.
• Spellchecker integrated.

And now I may have found it. It is Standard Notes. And I knew about it for a year or so now, but two things put me off:

a. at first glance looks a bit messy.

b. to unlock the awesome features you have to pay...

So it was a big NO for me. But because Yunohost had it packaged I decided to try it for trom.tf. And after install you get an email that teaches you, in simple steps, how to enable all of the cool features for free. Super easy. And after I enabled just a few extensions such as a few text editors (Plus Editor that I use for most notes + Code editor that's perfect for coding + Markdown for when needed) + a few themes, now it looks super duper cool and not messy:

It is so great that you can choose whatever editor you want for each individual note and it remembers that. Because for someone like me this is a must.

SO this Standard Notes ticks all of the above except point 4. For now you cannot add videos/photos directly to the notes but it is something they work on. You can add links tho and embed images from other sources.

So yah I love it really and the fact that is fully encrypted + works offline and only syncs online via the desktop app on Linux or Android (has an app for all OSes), it is really great. Auto backups daily locally...plus in the cloud....what else you want!? History of editing? Has it. Also lock notes, share them, etc..

And anyone can use it thanks to trom.tf ;). Either use it online at notes.trom.tf/ and customize it as you want. Or install any of the apps for any OS standardnotes.com/ and login with the account you just created at notes.trom.tf. Remember in the advance when login, to add our syncing server: notesync.trom.tf.

I will make a special page for it like I did for videos.trom.tf and a few other, to explain it.....soonish...

But yah. Super fucking happy with this Notes app. Trust me I tried hundreds of Notes app for the past years. THis one so far is the best. #tromlive

Such a shame that our videos.trom.tf (Peertube instance) is almost entirely used by the most retarded specimens of our species. All kinds of conspiracy crap:

It is a challenge...on one hand I'd love to remove these retards. On the other hand I would like to challenge myself and find a solution to this nonsense. Banning people solves nothing. You just push the garbage from your backyard to someone else's backyard.

It is such a shame since we provide such a great video platform, and yet the "sane" ones who produce sane content, are either not aware of such platforms, or have such a 'strong' personality that all they care is views, comments, being popular. And so they won't move to a video platform. They prefer to stay on an ad platform like youtube because youtube gives them a bit of fame and money at times. Even those who complain about youtube, complain on youtube....how retarded.

In any case.....it is what it is...at least we hide these videos from public access so if you create an account on videos.trom.tf and are a sane human, is very much ok. You have your own page and stuff like that. Nowhere on your page and videos there will be displayed these crappy nonsense materials. There are no recommended videos and no buttons to see these retarded videos. #tromlive

For these past 2 days I've been trying to fine-tune Kdenlive so that it works better for TROM II editing. You see on Linux you won't find a good video editor that's trade-free and uses the GPU. The video card. And without the video card, video editing sucks. Like, totally sucks. Let me give you an analogy:

With a GPU is like having a car. You can go off-road at times, climb hills, drive fast or slow depending on the needs. Without a GPU it is like having a bike. Super slow and at times useless when you have to climb steep hills or go off-road. Video editors on Linux are like having a bike. Some are trying to use the GPU but it is kinda experimental and doesn't work very well. For example Kdenlive uses the GPU (if you set that up in the settings, and do so property for your own graphic card), but when it uses it, it only uses it for here and there scenarios. Like if you apply some effects to a video, those effects cannot be processed with the GPU so it falls back to the CPU. And most effects do not support the GPU. So unless you use no effects in Kdenlvie then sure, it may work ok. Although the timeline preview seems to not use the GPU at all, so good luck for smooth previews if you use 1080p or above footage.

So for now the implementation of GPU use in Kdnelive and pretty much all trade-free editors on Linux, is like putting a motor and a battery on a bike, and inventing the electric bike. That's better since you can go faster, climb steeper hills, and such. But the Kdenlive implementation only works for certain scenarios, so it is like the motor of the ebike only works on paved road and no uphill. That's the perfect analogy.

So for now I will have to use an ebike that only uses its motor for paved and straight paths. It helps a bit, for sure, but not hugely.

Kdenlive has a few tricks to help you with previewing your project in the timeline and such, so for now is fine. But yah....it sucks that I have a GPU with 4GB or RAM and it is barely, if ever, used.

I am hopeful tho that in the next few years the GPU support for video editors will be as good as on the other OSes. Kudos to the Kdenlive team for making a trade-free video editor. That's important for me and I will keep on using it, since it is a great video editor. If it had proper GPU support it would become an amazing video editor.

I am backing up locally around 100GB every single day. These are all of our projects...from tromsite.com, tromjaro.com and the like, to trom.tf and all of its services. I have a shoe-box that's filled with some 20TB....that's all of my files, backups, VN stuff...I made some holes so that the HDD won't burn in flames.

Also, cable management....looks a lot worse than in reality cause I am nuts about making everything very neat. My laptop has 2 USB 3.0 connected to 3 USB hubs. In total 16 USB jacks. All, and I mean ALL, are "occupied". 5 HDD (plus 2 internal ones in the laptop) + mouse + webcam + mic + 2 USB chargers for camera batteries and one for whatever I need + my USB mic + a drawing tablet + idk what else :D. But I am making use of everything.

I have some 700-800 more GB to spare. But I need a lot for TROM II. So far only the proxy clips for it are at about 300GB and the full project files some 1.7TB. Nuts. For now I do not need any upgrades but lets see how it goes with the documentary and especially with trom.tf....because that too takes a lot of disk space since I keep backups for 2 weeks or so.

These are things I have to deal with, but I enjoy doing so ;). #tromlive

Spain used to impress me when it came to how they manage their healthcare system. A lot of automation and digitization. Like if I had an appointment I will get a message telling me when and where. I go there and scan my healthcare card, they give me a number automatically, and that directs me to exactly the section and door where I have to wait. When my turn is, I see on a screen my number and I can enter. Great and efficient!

But when it comes to the COVID vaccine...I got no message no alert nothing. I had no idea when they start to vaccinate and where should I go for that. I only know because of my family who stays on FB nonstop and they follow FB pages of authorities here in Spain and see their posts....which is unbelievably ridiculous. Actually that's how I got to know when I should wear a mask and when I should not, the hour restrictions here in Spain, and so forth....else I had 0 clue. This infuriates me! Like wtf you put hundreds of euros in fines if you don't wear a mask in public or go out after a certain hour, but you only announce that on FB? Or we deal with a deadly virus and you don't even tell me when to vaccinate and where....you post on fuckin FB. Jezus Christ! Sure, maybe they have also posted on their websites (but what websites?), however they always alerted me when it came to my appointments and such.

You should not use FB or the TV to let people know about such important health aspects. Just message them if you already do that for related issues....Or put flyers in the town. They put flyers about all kinds of nonsense events but not about COVID restrictions or vaccines. At least I haven't seen any.

Anyways, they are only giving more power to these ad-networks like FB if they keep the population up to date on these platforms. Very frustrating.
