I plan to release a new TROMjaro ISO these days. A big release. It will be a Beta release for now, with the chaotic-aur out of the box. I need to release else I lose tracks of the changes I've made and need to detail for the current TROMjaro users....
Once that is done should be less work for me on TROMjaro. I have been so trapped into the software world lately, and I'd like to be less so. Probably the next month I won't be very productive, but I want to also have some outside time. My dear friend @Roma is visiting so I'd like to spend some time together. Talk about TROM-like subjects and more! :)
I try to feel less guilty about not working on the TROM II documentary lately....but should be ok. We can support ourselves for the many months to come, if we spend no more than what we normally do (basic - food and such). So I should have time to finish it and also enjoy life while doing that.
But hey....TROM is alive and well. And we still work on stuff! #tromlive

We'd love to sync the fonts from gtk to qt. But this is what QT outputs as Ubuntu Condensed, 13:
@Variant(\0\0\0@\0\0\0 \0U\0\x62\0u\0n\0t\0u\0 \0\x43\0o\0n\0\x64\0\x65\0n\0s\0\x65\0\x64@(\0\0\0\0\0\0\xff\xff\xff\xff\x5\x1\0\x32\x10)
How can we transform that font name and size to such a value? If anyone can help out we would be super happy to fix it.
Thank you @Alexio for the original proposal months ago, and @Ilia for bringing it up again. If all goes well with our tests, the next TROMjaro will ship with the chaotic-aur repo! #tromlive

The hosting company:
The complaint seems to be solved; thus, we have closed this case and no further steps are requested from your side at the moment. If we should receive further complaints about your used services, we will contact you again.
The good news is that for now our server is ok. The bad news is that we can be bullied into removing links, even if it is illegal and unfair. And our complaints are not heard by the Contabo company.
I will voice more about this later on, or the days. We will make a page on trom.tf where we showcase all of such requests and our dispute with them. Our fight with this insane world. Changing the hosting provider won't work, since pretty much all will bend like that.

Is TROM II holding me back!? Feels like that from time to time over the last 2 years or so. Although there should be no rush and I should enjoy life more. I'd love to get back at writing books...writing books is a lot more direct and fast and saner. Video editing looks a lot more cool and interesting after it is done, but conveys a lot less info than a book - meaning I could write a huge book in about a year, but would take me several years to make a documentary that conveys a lot less info than that book.
Anyway...
In other news tomorrow I plan to release a new TROMjaro with a fix for KDE apps in terms of theming - we are making our Theme Switcher even more "complete" + A new music player. I'll explain it all in the release notes and I will poke even more at libadwaita. :D
Matrix finally works! It was indeed postgres (database) that took a while to fully update. Now all seems fine. Thanks @YunoHost !

So all of our TROM.tf services seem to work now, except our Matrix server...no chats folks...I suspect the database is still migrating from PostgreSQL 11 to 13 but it is a super slow progress. Our Matrix database is 77GB in fucking size...I've heard Matrix will push some updates this year that will speed up matrix in some regards by almost a thousand times. Which is crazy...can't bloody wait!
So for now we have to wait and see. I asked for help already but it is too late and developers sleep at this time :D .
Stay calm and try to fix things :) #tromlive

Sure but it provides video/audio calls, audio notes, markdown support with easy to use buttons for it (we use it a lot for code sharing), big file sharing capabilities, spaces, threads, reactions, and the userbase....i mean it is what i use to keep in touch with many open source projects....
They said Matrix will be improved hundreds of times by the end of this year so let's see...

Would not be nice to assault you now with comments about how I disagree with some of the things you said here. (*)
What I think is important to tell you now is the following : I will never be offended if you don't answer right away to my comments. I know that you are up to many things, and I think most people who interact with you know it as well. Maybe you can doo what most writers do, and dedicate a few (maybe even one) timeslots a week to answer "letters".
(*) Just to summarize, you seem to underestimate the interactions other content producer (scientists, writers, ...) have over their work. I would be glad to discuss that further, if you are in the mood for it sometime. Maybe in private if you find that less overwhelming, although public interaction also has its own advantages.
On Social Networks it is quite difficult not to reply "now" since it ca be daunting to "save" comments to folders in Friendica and reply later. Too inconvenient. This is why email for me is best. So if you ever want to engage in more lenghty discussions you can always use our contact form tromsite.com/contact/

Not sure where I underestimated this. I was talking about when others give talks or publish books, it is way different in the offline work than in the online world when you publish them primarily there.

That's actually what I often do, in my comment:plan
folder ! Long live Friendica 😀
So I am also doing it with this post so that I can write you an email whenever I have the time and am in the mood.
