I almost toasted our trom.tf server while trying to fix invidious....that's it am giving up for now. Removed invidious and nitter form torm.tf temporarily. Alexio may install them on his own server so we test with that, while keeping the same domain names. I do not need this stress in my life haha. Damn I dodged the bullet there. Lesson learned. You see basically if you install an app on TROMjaro (flatpak, repos, or snaps) then edit it via right click from the XFCE menu or via MenuLibre, and change the name of this app or add it to a new category, then what XFCE does is to create a new .desktop file in the home .local/share/applications.
Problem is, if you uninstall this tweaked app then the app is still present in XFCE's menu like a zombie. You click it and nothing happens. So you have to know to delete the .desktop file for that app fr

These also seemed to have fixed @Aaron 's instance. I would be so happy if that's the case. But lets give it a week or so and then I can say for sure.
I've also done the same change to our Invidious and so far works great. No more 502 nginx errors. But, I also don't want to celebrate this too early.

Tomorrow I want to do some stuff from my to-do list, like add a new documentary to VN, do some tromjaro stuff to prepare for the new ISO, and such. To then be free again for TROM II, who waits for me :) .

I finished @Sasha ' s book. I am the first one to read it :D . Except her ofc. Now what can I say...I do not want to give up much but it is an awesome read. She spent so much time crafting it and you can feel that through the book. The wording, the way she stories, the way she connects parts of her story with brutally honest looks at our society.
It is a brilliant and precious book. A combination of her life stories, that most of the time seem like they are not real because they are crazy nuts, and on top of this the way she criticizes society. It is a Fresco, Sagan vibe through the book too. Unique and wonderful stories, some are quite intense and scary, and you can see her growing into what she is today.
She talks about TVP and TROM, and related topics, and they are important points/aspects of her book.
I got trapped into the stories and I swear this girl lived 80 lives so far. It is hard to believe she did so much in just a decade or so. This book

This book will either make you change your monotonous life, or be depressed at the thought that she did so much and you did not. That's how I felt a bit haha. Tho I am happy with my life and my experiences made me who I am today. And am partially joking since she gives you something more than how her lifestyle was, towards the end of the book. She inspires you to change and be a human in this world, but also shows you that it is important for us to do something about this fucked up society.
I will recommend this book to anyone who thinks that humans are naturally drawn towards consumerism (wanting stuff), and that jobs are necessary, and all of this behavior aspect. Sasha is a proof that you can live a wonderful life, do scuba-diving, surfing, climbing so many mountains, swimming in so many waters, sailing, snowboarding, swimming with manta rays, and so much more, without trading much, and without wanting bullshit stuff/objects. And she met some interesting people what had similar values.
Overall a wonderful book. Can't wait for her to release it! :D #tromlive

Anyways I am so so eager to finish Sasha's book and see how it ends. Telling you, this book is really great and is on par with what I had in mind one time to create a fictional book that teaches people about a new kind of life/society, a saner one. And to emphasize on what creates this fucked up society through a story. @Sasha is probably that story and is not even fictional. Can't wait for the book to be public :) .

Hey guys if you have a yahoo account can you please try register at files.trom.tf, tell me if it works. Seems like it is failing for yahoo email addresses, like it doesn't send a confirmation email. We tested for yahoo.fr but how about yahoo.com?
The ip address has a TTL of 2100 or so and that used to be a reason for rbls to block items. I would simply contact the owner of the blocklist and ask them what to do. If there is a lot of spam going out through that server then it will never be whitelisted.
There is one advantage, you can ask for a ptr record and setup your own mailserver. Do be aware that needs to be maintained too

But also I am privileged to read @Sasha ' s book. FINALLY. Works quite well: I need a few days break from the computer and she just finished the book. At least the vast majority of it. Is kinda done! Done enough for her to share it with me. So I will be the first one to read it. Very very excited.
She worked so hard on this book, since 2017. All about her wonderful and so original lifestyle. Plus, she also talks a lot about our society and even TROM :D.
So yah, I will get lazy these days, relax, read her book. Immerse into it. :)
The Friendica issue may be a user side issue with the cache/cookies. Try to clear the cookies/cache for social.trom.tf and then login again. Let us know if that fixes it. I updated the issue here github.com/friendica/friendica… #tromlive
Seems like the Kdenlive Appimage may work ok...will have to test more tomorrow. Also, such a bloody shame that our Friendica doesn't work properly....it is such a great platform but I feel like the developers from Yunohost may not give it too much attention. idk what else to do about it.
Another strange thing is that we've been getting 502 nginx errors for our invidious and nitter instances, and we investigated the invidious thing and we could not figure where that comes from. Are they connected? I doubt....

Bug Description I use the Yunohost package. I updated it 3 days ago to the latest Friendica stable. Since then I see 502 Bad Gateway nginx pages in a weird fashion and I cannot access parts of Frie...
I was very eager to go back and work on TROM II today then I noticed many parts are fucked-up. Kdenlive pushed a few minor updates for the past month or so. It happened before with Kdenlive. Not cool. Really bad :( . I can't just fix it. I reported it lets see... but this time there are a lot of bugs. It is a pain in the ass to check the 45 minutes I've done properly. Usually I end up pre-rendering parts of it (a lot of) since it cannot use the GPU most of the time so I can't preview many parts if I don't pre-render. But then I end up with scattered parts that are pre-render, and in total can be as much as 70% of the entire project, and if Kdenlvie pushes some updates and some effects get messed up I can't even see that since likely these effects hide beneath the rendered parts. You know what I mean?
If say I have a portion of 5 minutes where I use heavy effects, I normally pre-render it so I see a pre-rendered version when I check the proejct. If Kdnelive breaks some effects via updates I still see the pre-rendered portion since that's already rendered, like a whole video.

Fucked up.
One solution is to use a Kdenlive appimage for the entire documentary. And yah I will miss on new Kdenlive improvements and features and that sucks. But at least I can work and not worry about the entire huge project being nuked. Problem is I will get stuck with whatever appimage I choose since the more I use that, the more difference and incompatibility whenever I would ever want to use this project with a new Kdenlive.
