Managed to capture the Milky Way "core" last night, for the first time :)
Made an 8 hours timelapse as well :). Will be part of a future video for our TROMhome channel - videos.trom.tf/c/tromhome/vide…
All with a Pixel 4a with CalyxOS, gave to me for free by @aaron :)

I rarely see such articles:
"Enough with unicorns and dinosaurs – show children the magic of real, living animals instead" - theguardian.com/commentisfree/…
Congrats. We need more of these! And TROMnews is meant to bring such articles to light.
The real world is many times more mindblowing than any movie, book, or story humans have invented. Not to mention it is real. If we want people to care about it, then they have to know about it. Expose children to real wonders, real stories, real life.

Put up pictures of lemurs, penguins and wolves, and introduce tomorrow’s environmentalists to the amazing nature in our world, says author Isabel LosadaIsabel Losada (The Guardian)

I feel like most of the documentaries about society are rather depressing or too complex for kids to understand the nuances. I don't want any little kids to get traumatized by watching war documentaries and such lol 😅
And yeah I was thinking of making something I can recommend to parents as well for their kids.

Went to a darkish place in Romania, took a few photos :)
Many bad things to say about Romania, but the nature here is likely amazing. Fucked up society, wonderful world :)

I think if I'd live 678 years I would never get bored and I would have new projects to do all the time. I feel like I want to do a lot. And I do a lot every day, but the days are too short for my motivation and drive. The weeks, the months, are flying by so fast. The years, still more ahead than behind, but soon they will balance, and then you'll ride the ones ahead. But it's all about making the best of this ride, even tho too short.
This year we have a motorhome, very little money, and a lot of plans.
Make sure you follow us on Peertube videos.trom.tf/c/tromhome/vide… - we will go chase the darkest skies in Spain, meet with some wonderful friends from the project, volunteer, and do a lot.

A massive thanks to Yair who took me and Sasha with his paramotor for free. Amazing experience! To be above the clouds in such an exposed way :D - this experience will stick with me for a very long time! videos.trom.tf/w/tzAsKoDKqhNKx…
Sometimes you come across some super nice people.... very happy!
We also took him and his daughter for a night with the telescope and they were amazed. We showed them the Orion nebula, the Moon, Saturn, Jupiter and Mars. Quite a show! We had super interesting conversations. :)
Watch the video now! haha

Fying above the fog
Big thanks to Yair who took me with his paramotor for a long flight over the coastline. It was an incredible experience. It felt like flying. Really nice human!videos.trom.tf

Am I Alone ? videos.trom.tf/w/mHgu6vnDpATfB…
More timelapses I did with my Pixel 4a. I wonder, at times, am I alone?

I have added more photos to my gallery :) tiotrom.com/photos/
Here are a few of them:
While kayaking I took this photo. I love how the rock looks like floating on the water.
Holding a 20 million years old spider:
This is the wonderful Moon and the stars:
And the wonderful Sun:
All of the photos are made with a Pixel 4a. And very little tweaks.

I found this hairy insect in the amber. It is around 40 million years old and I wonder what it is....hairy mosquito?
Bloody interesting...

I got trapped into the microscope world....
Look, this 20-some million years dot trapped in the amber:
It's this fucking insect:
With this fucking digital microscope:
Ain't that insane!?
I spent all day today looking at 1kg of amber with millions of years old insects. I honestly could not stop. This is too fascinating. I want to make a video about it and I will! Whenever I have some time.
And this is my own blood (I can do better but I became a pussy while trying to cut my veins and pour some under the microscope - I'll do better next time!):

It will be out this month, as soon as possible 😁
The Moon and Jupiter tonight:
The image is a composite - I took separate photos for each with the telescope and the phone. The original photo looks something like this through the binoculars:
But you can zoom into the first photo and you can even see Jupiter's moons :)

This photo looks fake, but it is not, and it is taken with a mobile phone. Plus I did no editing:
These are the islands where I live, and the wonderful night sky. You can see the Pleiades in the left top side, and that bright one top center is Jupiter:
4 minutes exposure with Pixel 4A.

A perspective photo that I really like. The moon and the bus. This is straight out of my phone - no telescope or binoculars, and no editing.

A better shot of the Moon tonight ;)
Again this is taken with a phone, Pixel 4a, through a telescope.
I have a cool video too but I will share it another day.
None of these photos are edited. Straight out of the phone.

Is RawTherapee like Photoshop for linux? I thought it was GIMP people use to edit photos...

Oh so it's more advanced than GIMP? Or are they just tools made for different purposes?
