An AP team of Ukrainian journalists trapped in the besieged city of Mariupol struggle to continue their work documenting atrocities of the Russian invasion.
This photo looks fake, but it is not, and it is taken with a mobile phone. Plus I did no editing:
These are the islands where I live, and the wonderful night sky. You can see the Pleiades in the left top side, and that bright one top center is Jupiter:
Our TROM Call now requires a username and password in order to create a call. This is stated on the main trom.tf website. The password and username are "tromcall" and it will create a unique call session every time. Therefore it can be used by anyone.
What is the best p2p chat application that does not rely on servers? We plan to change the default qTox app for our TROMjaro. Jami is the best one on the list so far, but if you know any let us know. #tromlive #p2p #opensource #foss #privacy
Only edited a bit the contrast/luminosity. Taken with Pixel 4A and Celestron 130 SLT. I know that people usually take such photos from lots of frames and they stack them together with specialized software, plus do a lot of editing after. Yeah their results are many times better, but for one right now I do not feel like spending hours to edit/create such a photo, and second when is the editing too fake? Too much? If you use special programs to reconstruct pixels on a low quality photo....then is almost like adding bits that are not even there....idk...
At least this sort of photo is one that I enjoy taking by looking at Saturn through my phone's camera live, and taking a brief photo. Then edited it for less than a minute.
My telescope was in auto-tracking mode and the exposure time was 4 minutes with the default Pixel Camera app.
I am astonished by this photo! You can see freaking color! COLOR! I only tuned down the gamma a bit but that's all of the editing I've done. Here is another unedited photo with a 20mm eyepiece:
I was soooo surprised to see this coming out of the phone :D - damn so fucking cool! 1.3 thousand light years away, stars forming.....so beautiful....so mindblowing!
So you attach your phone to the eyepiece of your telescope, right? Also, could you see this nebula with your naked eyes or did you had to use the 4 minute exposure photography to see it clearly?
Yes. I will do a video about these but basically yes I have a special adapter that connects my phone to the eyepiece of the telescope. Interestingly with the night mode for my phone (the default pixel camera app) you can see this nebula almost like you see it with your naked eye. But ofc not that sharp and clear. So you can see it some, but it is ofc colorless if you look directly at it. And it is nowhere near close to what you see in this photo I took. That's why I love to take these photos because they reveal the invisible.
Also the light pollution makes a massive difference when it comes to seeing such faint objects. This is an interesting article with illustrations about what you can see and how through different telescopes and conditions - deepskywatch.com/Articles/what…
Tomorrow at 21:00 Madrid time I will do a TROMcast live. A few hours of streaming, about what we did this year, some personal updates, plus what are my/our plans for the next year. ;) - I will share the live Peertube link tomorrow.
@Aaron is going to present TROM tomorrow in Hamburg at the Chaotic Computer Club event. Unfortunately he only has a small, few minutes long opportunity to present the project in a workshop-like way. We tried to get TROM to the main event but there were too many applying (over 600) so we were no accepted. We will try next year.
But awesome that Aaron is there and he is trying to spread the message.
If we will have any videos and photos we will share with you on our Friendica :)
Here's a photo I just took with my telescope and my phone:
It is difficult to find the right spot for these kind of photos and tomorrow I'll try to do it better. And I will also record a video (I have one but I will share it when I will do it better) :)
I (Tio) will do a live for several hours to talk a bit about my plans for TROM for the next year(s). I may allow others to join in but since this is a special TROMcast about some specific updates I want to talk about, it may only be me streaming. I will post the Peertube streaming link on the same day :).
There's JUST 48 HOURS to fund @Framasoft to develop @peertube @mobilizon and all the amazing projects they've brought you.
They're over 96% of the way! Thinking about helping? NOW IS THE TIME.
Do you want an official #Peertube app? Do you want more content, that's more easily discovered? Do you want better #accessibility? Do you want better #UX?
This is what I have to put up with with my driving exam in Spain, in English:
The correct answer is A....even tho it is the same exact meaning as B....
And then you figure this out:
Because the correct answer is C....
Unbelievable. Such a mockery. I will make a blog post about my experience and I will create interactive quizzes for anyone to play with, that have the exact questions and answers from the Spanish Government in English. So you understand the level of retardation.
Anyway, I will announce the TROMcast Live date/hour later on tonight. A lot of things to talk about :).
