Not only that TROMjaro is a very good Linux distribution and quite unique, but the idea behind is the important bit. The promotion of trade-free software. A purely free software that wants nothing from you. Not your data, not your attention, not your currency.
We released TROMjaro 4 years ago and for the past year or so more and more people discovered our distro, and thus came across our main TROM project. This is fantastic!

We have removed most mirroring accounts from our Friendica instance that we have created. These were zombie accounts pulling from RSS sources and reposting on the fediverse. There is no need to spam the fediverse and anyone can follow any RSS feed via our social network anyway.
We've also updated our TROM Videos and it is fantastic that there is a new feature which stops bots from registering. All accounts need to provide a reason why they want to join our platform, like our TROM Social already does, and these accounts are not public unless we manually approve them. This will cut down the spambots registrations by a huge factor. We were bombarded with several bot-made accounts daily.
We will make our TROM Videos more exciting this year, by creating more videos but also by trying to invite others to join the platform. This is where TROM II will be released, and not on Youtube mind you. We have to move away from the trade-based platforms like youtube, facebook, twitter and the like, to alternative ones that are trade-free like we provide via https://trom.tf/.

Two TROM tools have been deleted: our TROM quiz that was based on outdated knowledge and a very outdated plugin, and our TROM "social" (social.tromsite.com) that contained a lot of "memes" - images containing snippets from our books. These too were outdated in many ways and we do not want to "play the social network game" by regurgitating the same "memes" and resharing them on our networks. We need new content that is more relevant.
These two tools, although we put a ton of effort into making them, were outdated. We will do more cleaning for the website in preparation for the new TROM II documentary.
TROM will become more active after the release of the documentary.

TROM Office will be removed from https://trom.tf/ towards the end of this year. This is a Cryptpad instance and here are the reasons:
1. We already provide a full Office Suite via TROM Files that is far better than the one provided by Cryptpad.
2. Sure, you need an account for TROM Files, but if you want a quick way to create a document we already have TROM Text.
3. We also have TROM Sketch in case you want to draw.
Therefore Cryptpad was not adding anything new. The last drop that filled the glass of decisions was that Cryptpad is offensively aggressive in the way that they inject the donate buttons in the app itself. Popups, multiple buttons, and so forth. Totally understandable that these projects need financial support but this way of asking for support is way too aggressive. On top of that they are changing the design of their service quite a lot and it is quite difficult to customize it, so every update breaks our clean TROM design.

That was a video from @toplesstopics and its not even porn, like its just a video of her talking about a photoshoot she did which contained some artistic nudity. I don't understand why people are so afraid of human skin, no one's forcing them to watch.
That being said, if videos from an account is showing up even after banning then that's probably a bug that needs to be reported to #Peertube. Asking the admin of another instance to take the video out is not the way to solve this issue.

jeez. Thanks for not being a puritanical American jerk. Your peertube instance is one of the incredible minority of platforms online, big and small, that allows nonsexual nudity but NOT porn and NOT violence and hatespeech...until that someday-maybe idyllic future where major corps decide it's more profitable to support progressive causes like gender-equal anti-censorship instead of making superstars out of right-wing hatemongers, I will be forever grateful to you for giving me a "safe space" to upload my heinous nonsexual female nipples to!

Before the TROM II documentary will be released we will do a cleanup for tromsite.com. For example there are a few books that are outdated or not relevant/factual anymore and they will be removed. We will make this all public. Or our quizzes and other tools that are not relevant anymore, will be removed.
We need to keep TROM up to date and relevant. No point in dragging outdated materials/tools.

The usual Manjaro updates plus: We switched to the new kernel, 6.1 LTS - Long Time Support. This kernel brings a lot of hardware improvements. I know from experience that my new laptop had no working speakers, and a lot of other issues.

All of the "shorts" videos from our https://tromnews.com/videos/ are now extinct! No more shorts. These videos, the shorts, are a byproduct of a trade-insanity where humans are obsessed to do whatever it takes to grab more attention. Because they can trade that for other things. In this case the traders are hopping on a train brought by the TikTok ad company and emulated by Youtube ad company.
These "shorts" videos were ruining our entire video section. So we had to manually fix this for every source. And should be fixed from now on for good.

We should be able to design a better society where the incentive is to help others, progress, protect, discover, rather than a mindless "trade trade trade".

VideoNeat is up again! The theme was very old and not updated in years so it was not working properly and we were unable to update the whole website for some time now. We finally changed the theme and redesigned the entire website. It looks quite similar to how it was before, but probably a bit more functional now.
Mind you it is not optimized for mobile phones and it won't be for some time. It is not a priority for now. Only after the TROM II documentary is released we can do that. But regardless this website is not meant for such tiny screens anyway. And most mobile phones can't even properly support the Bittorrent network that VN uses.
Also we need some 50 more euros for our campaign to pay for the backups for VN and all other websites. Please help if you can https://www.tromsite.com/fundraiser/ we have to pay in less than a week.

@tio Wow that's such a big difference between your screenshot and mine, if you look carefully you'll notice that in mine the pictures look almost square instead of being rectangle shaped. I tried zooming out and it worked, so for now I can use this trick.
