Day 2 & 3 on the GR11 thru-hike (ultraheavy style). Here I went from Port de la Selva to the Sant Pere de Rodes Monastery to Sant Quirze de Colera.
I spent my first night alone on this trail- and was terrified of the wild animals that came by my tent. The next day I was attacked by dogs and almost collapsed from heat exhaustion :D

Day 1 & 2 of my big hike from the Mediterranean to the Atlantic across the Pyrenees Mountains-

Thanks @Tio for joining me for the first 20 km of the trail! And thanks for taking some stuff out of my ultraheavy backpack! :D

aand also thank you for setting up this great PeerTube instance :) It turns out that uploading videos to PeerTube is much faster than uploading them to YouTube- and much less confusing! :D
Not to mention no ads, no data collection, no google evil, and all that :D

I remember @tio talking about how tired he got just from those few days he was on the hike with you, I have no idea how you managed to go the entire way through with that ultra heavy backpack, I hope the antigravity is working so your back wouldn't hurt.

BTW, were you also writing your book during the hike?

@Tio
in reply to Rokosun

haha actually I have no idea either :D it was very difficult :)
I already had my book written out but I had it on my book reader and went through it while I was in the mountains, noting some changes that I wanted to make

I'm starting a new video series about hiking the GR11 (an 840-km thru-hike across the Pyrenees) on a very tight budget.
Here is the first video: videos.trom.tf/w/bscuS7uYA2PYV…
It's me packing my Ultraheavy backpack :D

You can find my full thru-hike gear list here: files.trom.tf/s/b5cpxbsHjKkwDQ…

Filmed at the Medes Islands, Spain. This marine reserve has been protected since 1983, allowing biodiversity to be restored in this little piece of the Mediterranean Sea.

I was interviewed for a mini-documentary + article about Couchsurfing. You can see it here:
lx.com/entertainment/is-the-co…

It’s a nice video with a positive message in the end. The only thing it’s missing, I’d say, is a mention of some alternative couchsurfing platforms like trustroots.org/ and bewelcome.org/ – those that haven’t morphed into an evil profit-driven company :D

I explained the whole Couchsurfing story in more detail here- bigworldsmallsasha.com/2020/05…
That’s why I’m in this mini-doc :)

I've never heard of couchsurfing before, this looks very interesting. See, now I'm more excited for your book, haha 😀
in reply to Rokosun

haha :) It was a really nice project for a few years, and a really great idea that allowed people to connect all over the world. Hopefully it will still live on through different projects in a more decentralized way :)

Thank you to Merwin for a $4 donation :)
My website got a bunch of attention these days because the Dodo channel published a video about my octopus "friends" and it seems to have gone viral. Unfortunately they only posted it on Facebook but here it is- facebook.com/watch/?v=61674537…
They titled it as "Octopus Leads Her Human Best Friend To Her Den" haha :D It was true tho :)

And here is the video that Dima made about the same octopuses- videos.trom.tf/w/svf9xeAmkEzgz…

Big thank you to John Moua for a $30 donation with the message “We support you girl. keep up with your journey and especially your book.” - That is super nice of you! :)

I’m becoming more and more confident that I’d like to self-publish my book without even trying to send it to any agents or publishing companies. That’s mostly because I think I’ll blow my head off if I have to edit it anymore (and I would have to edit it a lot more if a publishing company accepted it). I’d also like to have control over it- no editing out controversial subjects, no changing the title, no .99 prices, and nobody telling me that I can’t give it away for free.

Let’s see. For now I am still editing and editing...
