Oh look silly video about a hydrogen car named Toyota....requested by Toyota...So the "physics" gurl doesn't quite understand that if a company asks you to review their product, and probably pay you for that, plus they supervise all that you are doing with their product, then that's BIASED. I cannot trust 1 single thing from what she says in this video. Also, these technologies are just ads. Fuck them with their "sustainable technology ideas". There is nothing sustainable to sell individual cars to individual people and have to keep on doing it endlessly.

So if for fun you watch it, they repeatably said they are not allowed to film inside their building cause "confidential". If these MOFO wanted to do something good for the disaster called climate-change that they give a big push for it to happen, they would open source all of their patents and collaborate with others to create a clean transportation system.

These bloody companies now they are selling the "clean". They made everything dirty and pretend to start a new thing, "clean". Fuck them. And these naive tubers... #tromlive

Interesting documentary about this Canon people and how this Q came into existence. It is ridiculous and stupid. I liked the part where we discuss about 4chan and 8chan and the challenge of not moderating a website based on user content. I recommend!

Q: Into the Storm

Q: Into the Storm is an American documentary television miniseries directed and produced by Cullen Hoback. It explores the QAnon conspiracy theory and the people involved with it. It consisted of six episodes and premiered on HBO on March 21, 2021. The series received mixed reviews, with some critics praising its insight into the conspiracy theory, and others finding it to be overlong and lacking in analysis of the impacts of QAnon. Some reviewers have criticized the series for not following best practices outlined by extremism researchers for reporting on extremism and conspiracy theories.

Copyright is an idea I do not fully accept to be honest. Everything is a remix in the end, and copyright is abused beyond belief. In my book of reasoning, if the content is meant for educational purposes then it can use any sort of materials it does not "own". I will continue to do so and source all of the materials used, and try not to use a lot of the original content of course. You may not agree, but I also do not understand this weird online world where content can be replicated billions of times and yet we try to enforce this idea of property and copyright. I create a lot of original materials, and add no conditions attached to them. Use any way you want them. I still have a copy ;).

I finished (I guess) our Invidious instance theme ytb.trom.tf/ - I only have enabled the dark theme and deleted the switch-to-light-theme button for now, until I have some time to do it later on. Idk if this themes is optimized for mobile phones, but you may know by now that I do not care about it :D. When there will be a functional Linux phone then I will optimize all websites for mobile.

I will also try to move from gitlab to our own gitlab instance and allow anyone to use it. But this will happen whenever I have the time this month.

No more work on TROM II today. Too tired to consume myself over that. May work tomorrow, may not. Will see. Need not to rush with it. #tromlive

I finally made a good Invidious theme that I like. Spent a few hours doing it. Just the dark theme mind you and may not be 100% done. Will try to do the white one tomorrow.

Clear your cache tho else you won't enjoy it. ytb.trom.tf/

Invidious is awesome but the way it looks is just awful :D. Looked like 1992. At least in my view. I feel like open source projects need not to focus 100% on the software and how it works, but also User Interface. And sure many do, but at times maybe they don't. Also, again, I may be wrong since this is subjective.

Anyways....I did it now...it was on my list so...

Ok so this extension is amazing! sponsor.ajay.app/ it skips sponsored content from youtube videos and even works with Invidious. Had no idea such amazing extension exists and makes watching youtube videos finally ad free. You bet in the next TROMjaro release it will come pre-loaded with Firefox and properly setup.

As much as I am thrilled for this extension, I cannot help but feel a deep disgust for the fact that we even have to have such ad-blockers. What a bonkers world! #tromlive

The irony of this video ytb.trom.tf/watch?v=Hv6EMd8dlQ… - making fun of companies selling a nothing thing, and they do a great job at; and then inserting a nordvpn ad in between that was so cringe and forced. The irony... #tromlive

Not surprising. As predicted. Cars will follow the same path as phones....they will become more and more "smart". Meaning, they add mostly useless features but will allow them to sell way more cars because it is way easier to come up with "digital" features (different led lights inside that you can change via the dashboard, different driving styles, all kinds of maps or auto-parking, and so forth), than it is to do something to the hardware part of it (the physical car).

On top of that they can control the car: buy premium addons/features; do not pay, we shut down the car; insert ads; and so forth.

That's the world, brought to you by TRADE. Same system that created the banks and their charlatan practices, and so much nonsense. Same system creates this bullshit. Enjoy! #tromlive

haha so Apple is gonna scan users' phones for "illegal" content bbc.com/news/technology-581097… - there we go...

I don't care the reasons, this is not ok at all. What's next? Install a CCTV in all of your rooms that ONLY detect if you are abusing your children, then send the video to authorities!? This is an insane world that thinks punishment and such measures prevent anything. They only invade people's privacy and make the "offenders" go underground and avoid such "detection tools".

Insane. #tromlive

!Friendica Admins I know there have been discussions about a chat on github, but I do not see those updated in years. A chat (one to one), would be super great. DMs are great but that0s similar to email. Can't you make DMs load dynamically to give the impression of a chat? Or are the messages sent too slow to make that look like a chat?

IDK am thinking a chat is what is missing from Friendica, but I guess it is very hard to implement that. Just wanted to check with you guys.

Sure if you want to chat you can use other chat clients, but that's besides the point right? :D Because we are talking about Friendica allowing that feature to make it much easier for users to stay in touch with each other. Facebook has that, Twitter too. It is very handy. Twitter has a Messages section but that works like a chat as it is very fast. I'd love if Friendica had that, but @Michael Vogel said the database for it is not structured to allow for such a thing.... This is not a big deal but would be fantastic to have a chat on Friendica.

Really tough job with this section of the documentary. I finally managed to take all of those leftovers and assemble them together into one peace. Kinda...

Now I have to take all of those clips inside red red box, and cut it down so it kinda fits into the other empty red box.

Won't be easy. I find it so difficult to ditch so many recordings, but on the other hand I really want to not make this boring. Need a break :D. #tromlive

So it is a fuck ton more stable. It almost never crashed on me. That's the best so far. But there are some bugs/annoyances:

  • Slow...it barely uses my GPU so previewing/editing is not smooth at all. Even with proxy clips and all that, it is super slow if you add any kind of effect. I always have to render segments to properly preview them. This is by far the worst thing about it.
  • A few weird bugs with some video effects - some do not work anymore (very few), and some work but partially (again, few). I reported them all and they are looking into it.

Mind you, my project is 2TB and most of the footage is 4k. If it could use my GPU fully, then Kdenlive could be graded as a proper video editor. Till then it is so slow at times I feel like back in 2010 when I was editing videos :D

So happy I managed to get Sophia Moskalenko on TROMcast. We will talk about Qanon and similar conspiracies to try and understand where they start and how can we approach them. She is an expert on the topic.

10/08/2021 - at 19:00 Madrid time. Just in a couple of days. I'll bring back the cool live thing on tromsite.com/live/ where you can both watch the stream and use our live chat to comment. Stay tuned! #tromlive

Done some work on TROM II today. Still more to do to finish this part. See bellow. The red boxes are parts I've managed to select/cut and merge together to create a story out of them. The red lines are parts that I still have to edit and cut and merge them together somehow, and with the other two finished parts. Then the two boxes need to be connected somehow and I have to add music and lots of other footage on top of them to showcase the visual aspect of it.

And then I need to take the remaining parts (this big red box bellow) and merge them together and insert in between or at the end of the above work. This is a big red box but lots of spaces in-between :).

Already have 18 minutes for this part as edited. And I wanted to keep it bellow 20....

Lots and lots of work ahead that's for sure... #tromlive

We will have a TROMcast (podcast - live) about moderation/censorship on the fediverse (and extend it to "in general"). Around 10th-15th this month. @Hypolite Petovan, @Michael Vogel, @Tobias, @Eugen, @muppeth, any of you interested? Could be an interesting discussion and we will have it for sure, but thought to invite some of you guys.

Let me know and I will create a poll to decide about the date and hour. And let me know what other admins you may know that could participate.

in reply to Tio

Also, @Aral Balkan f you are interested, we will have a TROMcast (podcast - live) about moderation/censorship on the fediverse (and extend it to "in general"). See the poll here for the dates/hours poll.trom.tf/studs.php?poll=4r… . I have yet to go deeper into your projects and I wanted to invited you to TROMcast at some point, but what I seem to get is that you are proposing for people to "not go big" online in terms of servers, rather use their own. Not many peertube instances, or mastodon, but one and yours. If that's correct. And maybe that has a role to play when it comes to moderation since it takes the toll off admins of such instances. Anyways if you are interested... ;)

If not I plan to look deeper into your project and maybe do a separate one about what you are working on, although we can more than likely do both.
