I am so happy we filmed in 4k for TROM II. The footage is so sharp even when I zoom in 4 times. And I do that a lot to cut between shots. The quality is super crisp. This is not a smartphone crappy 4k mind you, it is with a proper camera 4k. I don't even understand why are these 2k 4k 8k and such terminologies relevant when you have phones filming in 4k that are complete shit compared with a proper 4k camera. Well just marketing schemes....
We also filmed with another camera, up-close from one side, in full hd. But am not sure I'll use that footage because I like it more when we face the camera. We'll see. At least we have that option in case we need it ;). #tromlive

Windows 11 vs TROMjaro (linux) - tromjaro.com/windows-11-vs-tro…
Well..I did it...some 3 hours in 3 parts. Damn. Windows sucks compared with TROMjaro. And I am so tired. I don't want to do this again. #tromlive

I will likely replace Dash to Dock with Dash to Panel on TROMjaro. Testing it these days and so far it is better. More options, more flexibility, more stable it seems. I like it. I wanted to use it from the beginning but it did not support the left alignment that we use in TROMjaro and now it does.
I may do a video Windows 11 vs TROMjaro soonish ;). Cause I think people underestimate Linux by a huge margin and think Windows 11 is so "revolutionary" haha. #tromlive

Finally a new TROMjaro ISO with Gnome 40 fully integrated. tromjaro.com/releases/ All seems to work fine except a few errors with the Dash to Dock panel like you can't tweak its settings. Probably they will fix it soon. I like the new Gnome look. Doesn't bother me. Like it a bit better than the previous. All fine! Grab the ISO from tromjaro.com/install/ - use TROMdrive.
I am so happy when all works with TROMjaro. For the past year or so we've had a very stable TROMjaro. Thanks mainly to the Manjaro team of course, but I've also learned what and how to tweak to keep TROMjaro itself stable.
Tomorrow I'll get back to TROM II. So tired today. Also getting my vaccine tomorrow, first shot. Happy about that although it is such a retarded world where young people get the vaccine now, while people of all ages in poor tribes are getting none. I'd happily donate my vaccine to some older folk from those countries. It is what it is...

Ok, so I tried the latest version of TROMjaro (14.07.2021) from the ISO image using ventoy.
I'm happy to report that it was very stable this time, I was surprised by it tbh. The only sorta error I could find was that an app "hp-uiscan" had no icon (see the image).
To give you some context, the last ISO image I tried was version 22.12.2020 which is almost a year ago. I can certainly say that TROMjaro had improved a lot in terms of stability during these months.

All those wallpapers look so similar, its hard to believe that you individually picked them up online. And yes, it goes well with your icons and all.
Its not that important to have "original" wallpapers. I'd rather tell you to focus on creating educational materials like TROM II, its very important in today's society.

Infact, I liked it so much that I actually copied it all over to my system, haha 😁
What OS you using?
I'm currently on artix linux, which is just like arch linux but without systemd. I use larbs.xyz to create a minimal setup that I can easily use and works well out of the box.
This is of course a more advanced setup, but I like it better. After learning things like linux & vim, it changed my view on computers in general. Before all this I didn't knew the point of using PCs when you can do almost everything on mobile these days, but now I know why :)

Yeah, its made by Luke Smith who has a peertube. He's a controversial figure in the linux community because he says some really stupid things - fosstodon.org/@futureisfoss/10…
Despite all this, he's still a very knowledgeable man when it comes to tech & linux, I've learned a lot of things from him. His videos are more focused on linux than privacy, this will give you an idea - videos.lukesmith.xyz/videos/wa…
landchad.net is a new project he started, maybe you can add it to trade-free directory

The fact that most people are not bothered by vertical videos means that most people use phones and are ok with consuming everything on that narrow screen. I also know (maybe I am wrong but...) that phones are either iOS or Android, the rest are a small minority that are basically Android forks that still rely on Google. I also project that one cannot do more on a phone than consume stuff and scroll and scroll. Nothing wrong with using a phone for some basic tasks and not for that long, but I feel like these vertical videos tell a much bigger and important story here. It tells me that humans are cheap consumers of crappy stuff, and they don't mind to trade their attention and data to a handful of powerful companies.
Also trade their bloody comfort. I could not imagine 7 years ago to show to someone a vertical video and them to be: yeah, that's cool. They would be kicking my ass and calling me stupid for filming in such a way that you can't see anything.
Maybe I should make TROM II vertically. So I am hip.

Tested the Manjaro Gnome 40 update in a VM with TROMjaro. Pretty much all fine. There are some minor bugs but nothing that bad. It looks good. I like the Gnome 40 style. More clean. However the workspaces are not super useful the way they are displayed. Too small if you wanna find a window on one of your workspaces or drag them to another workspace. The Unity way of doing workspaces, dividing the screen in 4 big blocks, is still the best I've yet to see.
Probably today I'll work on releasing a new TROMjaro ISO with a few fixes and additions. #tromlive
First place you should go to find information about stuff like this is the arch wiki. I found this article on it - wiki.archlinux.org/title/Migra…

I've added a big message on videos.trom.tf because we are flooded by retards :D.
It is a challenge....but once we reach 60% of our SSD (we are at 44% now), then I need to take a decisions about this. I either start to moderate the instance, which I really do not want, or limit everyone's quota. Buying a bigger disk space (server) is not something I can afford nor am I motivated to do all of that work for these mindless minds that upload these mindless materials. It is definitely an interesting experience for me to see how one can handle such situations. #tromlive

Man....that message at the top 🤦♂️
The fact that you had to put this banner at the top of your site really says something about humanity. I don't know if I should laugh or cry.

We would love to update Friendica to the latest version but the @YunoHost package fails to upgrade so we have no choice at the moment. I wish I had the skills to help with it but I don't. We provide a Friendica instance with over 100 users so far and we will continue to do so, but would be fantastic if the ynh dev can make it work so we can upgrade to the latest that supports the Mastodon API, as that allows anyone to use Friendica with any mastodon client, opening up a much better integration with any operating system. Like you can have an app for Friendica on your phone.
I have reported the issues to their github repo here github.com/YunoHost-Apps/frien… and less detailed here github.com/YunoHost-Apps/frien… - if anyone can give them a helping hand... :P
These people work as volunteers so is much appreciated their work!
