We Built This Wall for Birds — Here’s What Happened
In April, we joined a group of volunteers on a small island in the Drava River, Slovenia — and built a sand wall by hand. Why? Because Sand Martins, a small migratory bird, had lost their natural nesting sites. Dams and hydropower reduced the river’s flow so much, sandbanks stopped forming naturally.
So we decided to act.

How beautiful it is to find these secluded places in nature. We parked so close to a lake....mountains in the distance. Super quiet. Just the 2 of us basically camping for several days. Nothing eventful, just an example of how this motorhoming life can be at times: relaxing. Nothing more, nothing less.

El Caminito del Rey, in the south of Spain, was once considered the most dangerous hike in the world. Now it has been repaired and rebuilt with nice little walkways that give you a spectacular view of the steep and narrow gorge in El Chorro. Well worth a visit! This was the best place we visited so far, an amazing hike through a wonderful canyon. This hike was considered one of the most dangerous in the world up until 2015 or so, when they rebuilt it all to make it safe. The views are spectacular. Hard to showcase that in a video....but we did our best :).

Yah ive seen him moving to linux too recently....very interesting turn around from making silly youtube videos and becoming the most popular youtube for many years. I used to give him as a bad example in my books, like look how dumb down content makes a lot of views and money.
@tio positive change, for sure. Above all showing the sign of the times is changing and regular people everywhere start to get real uncomfortable with big tech as their impact on (the unraveling of) society becomes more apparent.

More generally speaking the awareness of the danger big tech poses to society is rapidly growing and more people take positive action to become less reliant on it.
Someone mentioned that too, thanks. Not promoting but making an observation. I don't know the guy other than that he was/is one of largest influencers, arguably deeply complicit in helping erode the fabric of society with online culture he helped spread.
More generally I was struck by the rising awareness of the evil role of big tech, and the willingness of everyday people to take real action, that didn't exist before.

In the cave it is the largest formation of stalactites in the world measuring around 32 meters.
This was such a mindblowing experience for us, it is hard to showcase the immensity of it and uniqueness in a video or photos. We were also able to get in there for free.

We found some amazing places to park our motorhome, but one spot was very tricky to get out of. This was the biggest challenge for our Tortuga (motorhome) so far 😁
We also did the laundry again, bought a lot of groceries for our little fridge, and went for a nice hike around the area.
We went to the famous Caminito Del Rey in the South of Spain. But before we had to do the hike, we stopped for a few days in some near-by beautiful places. On particular was very nice, but almost impossible to get out. This was the most challenging for our Tortuga (motorhome) so far. We also did the laundry again, bought some food, and went for a nice walk around the area.

Capturing the core of the Milky Way for the first time! With a phone.
We let the phone capture the night sky for 8 hours straight and managed to capture the Milky Way for the first time ever!
We also sealed all of our motorhome to protect from water infiltration, and overall spent some 5 amazing nights in this beautiful place, Castillio de Setefilla!

When I decided to get Starlink for our motorhome it was around 57 Euros a month for unlimited. By the time we got Starlink it jumped to 72. Then they added some "spanish taxes" and went up to 82. Now I got an email saying they just made it 89. All of these happened in the past few months.
WTF.
But so predictable unfortunately...
It sucks because there is no reliable unlimited internet solution cross-EU. I have paused Starlink for this month and I need to seriously consider what we will do. 90 Euros a month for the internet is crazy.
They really trap you because you buy the dish for a lot of money and that dish can ONLY be used with Starlink. Not that there is any other option for satellite internet. So now if you give up on the subscription, you are left with a fucking 400 Euros dish that is basically ewaste.
90 Euros a month for internet is indeed crazy, I don't know what the solution is since you travel around in a motorhome.... Maybe try to get in touch with other people who are in the same situation as you to see how they handle it?
I did and there is no good solution really....they use SIM cards and change them when going to different countries. And in order to have a good signal they buy antennas for them that cost hundreds of euros too....
