Capitalism is good. Let me explain. - by physicist and lost-in-the-woods Sabine Hossenfelder - inv.citw.lgbt/watch?v=CRPHp2Ej…
I watched this video and I almost cried laughing. It made me finally remove this channel from our curated videos tromnews.com/videos/ - this woman was going downhill for some time now.
She argues that "capitalism" is great because....it allows us make more things and better, and she spreads all of the simplistic and unrealistic beliefs of "capitalism" in such a way that I wonder if this woman knows anything about the real world...that of climate change, slaves, waste, unnecessary products, corruption, and so forth.
The positive part is the comment section that seems to be made out of humans who understand that this "capitalism" (trade system) is cancer. To quote a few:

It really fits both the topic and the general vibe of the video to feature sponsored content and soliciting of donations where should normally be a list of citations and literature for further reading

From a science communicator I would have expected facts and data, not a lot of opinions in the form of an essay
.
Ah yes, capitalism allocating resources where they are most needed ... the offshore bank accounts of millionaires
.
There is a core problem even with the basic capital you mentioned. Those with the money to invest are the only ones getting the return, thereby continually concentrating wealth and disrupting the ability for the majority to trade. And that doesn't even include all the psychological biases that make it even worse like reducing people to resources, corruption, and imbalance of power.
.
Sabine out here proving again that a tiny amount of knowledge is more dangerous than knowing nothing at all.

Sabine, I just wanted to come here to congratulate your audience. I envy it, I hope that if I ever publish something as unsubstantiated, narrative-driven and narrow as this my audience holds me accountable the way yours has. This community gives me hope.
Yeah, it is terrible when such people who pretend to be scientists and have a huge following do a terrible job at "informing". Could that be because of....you know, capitalism (trade)???'!!! Hmm....is dear Sabine influenced by the power of trade to keep on making videos outside her expertise to get more views, and thus more money??' hmm....interesting indeed :D -
A victim of "capitalism", making uninformed videos to make more money. Ironic!
