in reply to Tio • •tuxedocomputers.com/en provides very solid models I heard a lot of good things of. Laptops are with aluminium/magnesium chassis and good possibilities in repairing and swapping components (even without losing warranty).
They have not that good 17-inch options, but 16-inch are not that different from 17 and have expanded screen in a formfactor of 15,6-inch with full numpad keyboard, it's quite a good alternative too.
What I've noticed though that it might be a problematic to find a laptop with decent AMD GPU card, since the most manufacturers still prefer Intel+NVIDIA combinations. To be honest AMD is kinda resposible for that by themselves since they did not provide a relevant mobile GPU for years. There's Radeon RX 6000M series which looks very promising, but we should wait for a year or two before it will be adopted, I hope (it was released only last year). Though to be mentioned Tuxedo is promoting themselves as designed with Linux in mind and they sell laptops with it preinst

Other manufacturers I keep looking at (all are Linux friendly):

in reply to Roma • •AH yess Tuxedo. I forgot about them. Thanks a bunch. Quite expensive tho but I guess that's how much they cost. I think @Aaron has a Tuxedo. Aaron, right? Am also unsure if they are fully metal or some parts, like the front frame of the display may be plastic...
Thanks for those too!
