Gobantes, Málaga, on our way to the famous Caminito del Rey hike in the south of Spain: videos.trom.tf/w/j5wZUdhrLwhLc…

We found some amazing places to park our motorhome, but one spot was very tricky to get out of. This was the biggest challenge for our Tortuga (motorhome) so far 😁

We also did the laundry again, bought a lot of groceries for our little fridge, and went for a nice hike around the area.

We almost didn't get out of this beautiful place

We went to the famous Caminito Del Rey in the South of Spain. But before we had to do the hike, we stopped for a few days in some near-by beautiful places. On particular was very nice, but almost impossible to get out. This was the most challenging for our Tortuga (motorhome) so far. We also did the laundry again, bought some food, and went for a nice walk around the area.

Here we stayed at Castillo de Setefilla, Andalucia for a few nights and managed to capture the core of the Milky Way: videos.trom.tf/w/h4sbDdKroLKuo…

We also sealed off our motorhome to protect it from water infiltration, and overall spent some 5 amazing days in this beautiful place.

Capturing the core of the Milky Way for the first time! With a phone.

We let the phone capture the night sky for 8 hours straight and managed to capture the Milky Way for the first time ever!

We also sealed all of our motorhome to protect from water infiltration, and overall spent some 5 amazing nights in this beautiful place, Castillio de Setefilla!

How we do astrophotography with an old phone?

Cerro del Hierro, a very nice place where we stayed for a few days and were able to capture perhaps the most amazing nigthsky timelapse. Us, a bench, and the rest of the universe. And we explain how we do these photos/timelapses.

We were also invaded by goats and Sasha went for a small hike between the beautiful rocks.

Beautiful photos! Even I didnt see some of them! :))

Here we took some photos and timelapses of the night sky using an old phone:
videos.trom.tf/w/rYkMsXVAUxCXd…

This is in Cerro del Hierro, in the Sierra Morena Natural Park. We stayed here for a few days and were able to capture perhaps our most amazing night-sky timelapse. Us, a bench, and the universe. And we explain how you can do this easily (if you have the right software on your phone).

We were also invaded by goats and I went for a small hike between the beautiful rocks.

Terrible...

(source)

Humans have divided themselves into tribes, groups, beliefs, genders, kinds, colors, etc.. In fact we are all the same, part of the same wonderful story of evolution. Of an universe that evolved into us and many other things.

So far there is little to no sign of intelligence on this planet.

The can be radically different if the culture pushes them to be, but in fact we have similar needs and mostly same problems. We all need food, shelter, safety, healthcare, access to information and so forth. So yes, we are more alike in that sense and we are all indeed part of a greater story, far greater than any simplistic cultural/religious story humans have invented.

The same is true of yeast however.

Religions are insane but politics is just secular religion.

I think we gain sanity when we stop trying to force unity.

We found a super nice motorhome area with services (including electricity) for 6 euros/night, but getting out of there was a bit tricky:
videos.trom.tf/w/vewyoFQd9VmYM…

I also found some donkeys and nice scenery in the hills surrounding Fuente del Arco :)

The best paid parking? And can we get out?

Fuente De was a surprisingly good paid parking. Just 6 euros for parking, water, and electricity. But when we tried to get out we realized that the only way out was uphill and near a big hole that was not there when we parked. It was really difficult to get the motorhome out of there... But we really liked that place in terms of motorhome parking.

Llerena, Extremadura, in the rain: videos.trom.tf/w/sDJEbPp1R2g1n…
We had really bad weather for almost all of March this year. In this video we stumbled upon an event called “La Matanza” in Llerena, the south of Spain, but it felt like we were at some Eastern European Christmas markets 😄 Also, @Tio hates crowds and can't indulge in cheese and wine, so these kinds of events are not for him ☺️

Tio hates crowds!

We decided to stay in Llerena for a market/festival thing. It was quite crowded in the motorhome area and even more crowded where the event was. Tio hates crowds :). But Sasha loves wine and cheese. So we had an ok time overall :). But we try our best to void the crowds.

We got our motorhome stuck for the first time! videos.trom.tf/w/bxTbZkK2TYaUY…

But it happened in a super beautiful place, Cerro Masatrigo, and a very nice local man came to our rescue.

I also did a nice little hike called Sendero Fortaleza de Lares to get an even better view of this area in Extremadura (around the middle of Spain).

#vanlife #nature #hiking #travel #Spain #Europe

Getting stuck in the most beautiful place

Masatrigo looks like a volcano, but it is just a beautifully shaped hill with a roundabout around it. It looks so cool from afar, and the entire area is actually super beautiful. But it has been raining in Spain for many weeks and the soil/grass was very wet. We parked in a not so very steep place, but it was enough to get us totally stuck.

Luckily a very nice old man came to our rescue.

I found a very interesting YouTube channel of a homeless English-speaking Japanese man. Why did it interest me? Because I always thought that without electricity and water, etc., without a home in short. A van or an apartment. It's very difficult. This man shows a different kind of life. There are a lot of YouTubers who live in a car or a van or a cabin without electricity, but very few homeless people (by choice. Mentally stable) who have to rely on electrical outlets in cafes and libraries, Public showers and finding a place every night to pitch a tent.

Will have a look. Seems interesting. For me personally I need electricity, water, and at least a tiny home :) - on wheels like we have now.

We decided to wait out the storm in yet another place- videos.trom.tf/w/bv3rpVt3GQWZ8…

Playa de la Colada, el Viso. A nice looking recreational area, pretty quiet off season, but the water was contaminated and was full of dying fish! A little bit eerie but otherwise a nice place. In the last photo you can see how flooded it was after all this rain.

Oh and we also found mold under our bed! 😯

#vanlife #travel #Spain #RV

Lots of dying fish in this lake

PLAYA DE LA COLADA: This was a beautiful yet kinda creepy place because we found a LOT of fish dying and it looked really weird. Not a water you want to go swim into. We solved the mystery later on when we red more about the place... Except that, we had a good time there and the scenery was really nice. We even did some nigthtime timelapse.

On stormy days (which there have been a lot of), we mostly stay inside and eat cheesecake 😁 videos.trom.tf/w/jwu1LtBABCHGW…

We stayed in a motorhome parking area near a little town called Alcaracejos, where we found a lot of white buildings and one very small car ☺️

#Spain #Travel

Trapped in a storm for many days

Several storms hit Spain for almost a month. Raining, clouds, cold and wind. We decided to go to a motorhome parking in Alcaracejos and stay there for several days to wait for the storm to calm down. We put a lot of strain on our batteries and our patience :D.

Totally understand man. I'm so afraid of dogs that I have to tell people to keep their pets away before entering, lol 😂 I know these dogs don't bite and just wants to play with me but my brain just freaks out when they run towards me 😅

This is how we do laundry (while living in a motorhome) 😄
videos.trom.tf/w/bFbRQYq9ymPgL…

How we do the laundry?

It is unreasonable to have a washing machine in the motorhome. So then, how do we wash our clothes? Interestingly it is easier than doing it at home.

We visited for free this amazing cave. I think it has the tallest formation of stalactites in the world. 32 meters.

There are people in these photos if you look carefully :D

In this care there were people living some 25.000 years ago. Nuts! And cave hyenas. And they discovered cave paintings there that could be the oldest in all human species history, some 42.000 years ago made by Neanderthals. But still they need to confirm this.

The Nerja Cave - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caves_of…

This is me down there...

Mind blowing experience. You have to visit this cave if you can. Put it on your bucket list. The photos do no justice to how amazing the experience was. And from 9:30 every day they provide free tickets if you manage to book them.

Fantastic!

Of course we will make a video about this for our TROMhome channel - videos.trom.tf/c/tromhome/vide…

Dude you're making good use of that motorhome haha 😄 Absolutely stunning places! 🤩

This was a bit of a weird place with way too much garbage and too many garbage bins (that were strangely empty), but otherwise a very nice view from our main window! :)
videos.trom.tf/w/2pDZA7QkdP7QN…

This was a creepy place

We ended up in a place that was used for cultish rituals (aka: religion). Tens of big trash bins, lots and lots of garbage, fire pits...and signs about "virgins". Except that, the place was quiet and still ok :).

In this part of Spain (Fuencaliente, Portollano) we found so much trash it is incredible. Such a shame to see this waste. We tried to clean this park a bit but....
